Martha Jerusha Snyder was born in Washington Territory to Samuel Snyder and Sarah Elizabeth Brewer Snyder. She married Harry Parry on 31 Aug 1887 in Roseburg, Douglas County, Oregon. The couple had two children, Hazel Leah Parry (1891-1989) and "Len" Parry (1897-1941). Spending most of her life in Georgetown, Seattle, Kings, Washington, she later moved to San Francisco and Los Angeles to be near family. With the death of her son in 1941 and her daughter being in New York, Martha moved to San Diego where a niece cared for her. Martha worked as a practical nurse and was supportive of her granddaughter, Helene Marcella Varicle's dancing career.
