Services for Beverly Kay French, 77, of Palestine will be at Land of Memory Cemetery with Paul Jones officiating.

She was born to Edward G. Bankhead and Helen Jean Bridges Bankhead. She graduated from Paris High School, earned an associate's degree from Paris Junior College and graduated from East Texas State University with a BA in Education. She later earned a Masters Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma Sate University. She taught in the Odessa, Texas school system her entire career.
As she began her teaching career in Odessa, she met and married Jimmie Wayne French, a teacher, coach and ultimately an administrator in the Odessa ISD. Jim preceded her in death in 2013.
Kay is survived by her son, Jeff French of Phoenix, Arizona; stepsons, Jimmy French (Judy) of Elkhart, Dr. Dean French of Palestine, Cammie French and Mylynh French; grandchildren Justin French, Jadyn French, Levi French, Dr. Chloe French, Lexie French and husband Matt Varner, Jeb French and Cass French; brother, Dr. Jack Bankhead and wife Mary as well as numerous extended family.
A graveside service officiated by minister Paul Jones will be at Land of Memory Pavilion.
The family is grateful for the loving care provided by B and B Private and Caring Hearts Hospice as well as the companionship and food provided by Kay's friends. A special thank you to Kay's grandson, Jeb, whose devotion to Grandma Kay in the last few months was invaluable.
