Everett B. Campbell, Jr., "Ev," recent resident of The Blaire House of Tewksbury, MA died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, April 13, 2018. He happily celebrated his 97th Birthday with family and friends on February 18, 2018.

Everett was a longtime Rhode Island resident, residing in Central Falls, North Providence, Chepachet and Cumberland, RI. He recently relocated to Tewksbury, MA to be near his son, daughter-in-law, one of his grandsons and his two great-grandsons.

Born in Worcester, MA on February 18, 1921, one of two children, he was the son of the late Everett and Ethel (Croutear) Campbell.

He was predeceased by his wife, Germaine (Bessette) and his sister, Norma Briggs.

Everett proudly served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during World War II and was part of the D-Day Invasion as a member of the 461st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. He drove a half-track onto Omaha Beach and eventually was part of the Allied Forces liberating France. His unit also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Before returning home from the War, he served in the Military Police helping to deliver goods to those in need throughout Europe.

Everett was a foreman at Standard Engineering Company in Pawtucket, RI for over 35 years. He then served as a foreman for the Martin Copeland Eyeglass Design Company in Seekonk, MA until his retirement in 1987. Prior to the outbreak of World War II, he was a student at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI.

A devoted family man, Everett loved spending time with his son, grandsons and great-grandsons and their families. In his younger days, he loved boating and was a member of the Rhode Island Boaters' Association. He also loved cars and tinkering with them. He actively drove his vehicles up until the age of 96. He never had an accident or moving violation in his over 80 years of driving.

The Family would like to thank the residents and staff of Cumberland Manor, Cumberland, RI for their years of friendship. In particular, George Woods, a Vietnam Navy Seal Veteran, who often joined Everett for lunch at various restaurants. He considered all of his friends at Cumberland Manor "family." He also had fond memories of many breakfasts and lunches with his niece and nephews, Darlene Mcgaw, George, Robert, and Russell Briggs and their families. We also greatly appreciate the care he received at The Blaire House and New England Hospice. The nurses and staff provided the expert attention, love and care he needed.
