Carolyn Jean Watts Combs of Charlotte, NC, passed away on April 5, 2018 at Carolinas Health Care System NorthEast.

Carol was born on June 12, 1948 in Lynch, KY, daughter of the late George and Edna Queen Watts. She is also proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Everett Scottie Combs and siblings, brother, Clois Watts and sister, Dee Watts Ball.

Carol had a great love for sports and especially enjoyed watching UK basketball. A graduate from Cumberland High School, she was a proud Redskin fan. If you were ever at a ballgame that she attended you knew she was there because she definitely cheered and whistled the loudest. She was also an avid chicken/rooster collector. A consummate mother and homemaker, Carol devoted her life to her children and was the best Mamaw ever to her grandchildren.

Carol was a Christian in faith and for many years attended Cumberland Pentecostal Church and later on New Life Assembly of God. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, son, Scottie Combs of Cumberland, KY; daughters, Shawntease Combs and fiance Tre Boswell of Charlotte, NC, and Shasta Ashby and husband Paul Ashby Jr. of Charlotte, NC; her grandsons, Caleb Ashby, Gabriel Ashby and Zachary Ashby; her siblings, brothers, Doc Watts and wife Judy Watts of Locust Grove, GA, Harley Watts of Jonesboro, GA; sister, Sherry Wells and husband Roger Wells of Kings MT., NC; her best friend, Linda Estep of Benham, KY; along with a host of other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at the Noeton Missionary Baptist Church Cemetary, 359 Newman Hollow Rd, Bean Station, TN on Saturday, April 14th with Pastor Eddie Estep officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the family through Wilkinson Funeral Home by calling 704-786-3168.
