She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert L. Campbell, and their son, Mark E. Campbell.
She leaves behind her sister, Maxine Quackenbush (Jack), and brother, Samuel Messer (Kathy), of Rochester, NY; her sons, Michael (Rose) of Virginia Beach, and Matthew (Shelley) of San Antonio, TX; twelve grandchildren: Jason (Danielle), Jennifer, Tracy, Charity, Mark Joseph, Francis, Brian, Maeve, Evan, Elizabeth (Jesse), Robert, and Sandra; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Charity lived a full and productive life, devoting herself to her family and community. She ensured that a home was maintained throughout a number of military postings that Robert was assigned throughout his career in the United States Air Force. Charity was actively involved in numerous school functions and organizations throughout the boys' school years. She was an active member of the Norfolk Valley of Scottish Rite Ladies and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 15th at the chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm as well as one hour prior to Thursday's service.
The family wishes to give great thanks to Shirley from Jewish Family Services, Monica from Heartland Home Health, and the staff of Ward 3 East at Virginia Beach General Hospital. A very special Thank You to Kelly and James.
