Carolyn Ruth Rice, 73, of Hillsdale, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at her home. She was born April 24, 1944 in Hillsdale to Donald and Feldra (Wright) Gregory. Carolyn married Elsworth "Bud" Rice on June 15, 1962 and he survives.
Carolyn graduated from Jonesville High School in 1962 and she attended Hillsdale College. She worked for the Hillsdale College maintenance department and also for her family's business, Clear View Window Cleaning. Carolyn was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses in Hillsdale. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, flower gardening and working as a seamstress at her business, Nanny's Needles.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Bud Rice, Carolyn is survived by daughter, Rachelle Rice of Osseo; two grandchildren, Quinton Slovacek of Hillsdale and Ariella Rice of Osseo; twin-sister, Marilyn Gregory of Osseo; sister, Janis (Jim) Franklin of Jonesville and brother, Donald Gregory of Jonesville.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services for Carolyn Rice will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 12:00 PM at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Travis Temeyer officiating. Family interment will take place at Moscow Plains Cemetery in Moscow Township. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
