Maxine Lunsford Ward of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 18, 1941 in Rison, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Henry Black Lunsford and Mattie Lula Mae Winston Lunsford. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed antique shopping, yard sales, and gospel music. She never met a stranger, and she dearly loved people, especially her family and friends. She always made sure she had current pictures of her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren to hang on the walls of their home.

Maxine died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 76.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Hicks, sisters, Pauline Lunsford and Sue Leonard; brothers, Troy Lunsford, Bill Lunsford and Adell Lunsford.

Survivors: love of her life, best friend and husband for over 59 years, L.D. Ward of Sheridan; sons, Shawn (Robin) Ward of Sheridan, Steven (Leslie) Ward of Sheridan; daughters, Janet (Sam) Hicks of Little Rock, Janice (Rick) McCool of Redfield, Pam (John) Clark of Sheridan, Sheila (Tony) Krisell of Hensley; brothers, Larry (Jean) Lunsford of Wooster, Henry (Charlotte) Lunsford of Clinton, Lonnie Lunsford of Malvern, Ray (Helen) Lunsford of Wooster, John (Judy) Lunsford of Watson Chapel; sisters, Martha (Charlie) Nicolson of Clinton, Dorothy (Don) Mackin of Fordyce; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; her precious dog , Rascal and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Holmes officiating, Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Rison. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
