Rensselaer- A former area resident, Mrs. Betty Jane Flagg, 41, of Hammond, died there at 5:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Margaret Hospital. She had been ill a year.
Mrs. Flagg was born in Lake Forest, Illinois, and educated in Fair Oaks High School. In 1946 in Crown Point, she married Ernest E. Flagg who survives. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving with the husband are four sons, Leslie E. of Hammond, Phillip E. of Highland, and Dean and Rickie, both at home; two daughters, Wanda and Lorain, both at home, and a sister, Mrs. Glen Jacobs of Manhattan, Illinois.
The body will be returned here for services.
