Jimmy Dale Byrd, 85 of Sheffield, died Thursday, April 12, 2018. Jimmy was born January 7, 1933 in Sheffield to the late Homer and Ida Whitten Byrd. He was United States Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He attended the University of North Alabama, was a member of the Masonic Lodge 503 in Sheffield, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4919 is Sheffield, the American Legion Post 31 in Tuscumbia, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tuscumbia. He was the owner and operator of Shoals Piping Products.

Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers, Billy and Don Byrd.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ivy Morgan Byrd; son, Michael Dale Byrd; and grandchildren, Tiffany Durham and Amberlee Byrd.

His family will receive friends Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Tuscumbia with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Rudy Guess and Rev. Howard Wilson will officiate the service. Burial will be in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are J.D. Chandler, Dalton Broussard, Earl Rutledge, Tinker Evans, Greg Tomlinson and Doug McCormack.
