Curtis was born November 11, 1939 in Raleigh, NC, son of the late Curtis Henry Dale, Sr. and Catherine Bashford Dale Roy. His brother, Jonathan Dale preceded him in death.
Curtis graduated from New Hanover High School and subsequently from UNCW. He was retired from the accounting department at the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Raleigh.
He is survived by two sisters, Louise Dale Somersett (Marion) and Candace Dale Halecki, all of Wilmington; five nieces, Elizabeth Paige Medina, Alice Patz (Frank), Catherine Halecki, Sarah Gubitz (Wes), and Roxanne Bachman; two nephews, Adam Somersett, and Jonathan Dale; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, April 13, 2018, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dena Whalen officiating. Prior to the service the family will hold a visitation/reception from 12:00pm until the service hour. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
