Mr. Leonard Dale Carter, of Blue Ridge, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 11 at the age of 69.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carolyn Carter. Dale was born in Bedford County to the late Leonard Carter and Mary Louise Carter. He is also survived by his children April and Urick Alldredge, Tabatha Hiner, and his grandchildren Courtney Harrison, Claudia Harrison, Carter Harrison, Dakota Carter, Dustin Hiner, and Dallas Hiner. Dale is also survived by his stepchildren Scott and Rachael Freeman, Tina and John Philips, and their children Benjamin Freeman, Robert Philips, and Evan and Diane Philips.

Dale was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, his farm, and especially enjoyed his growing collection of antiques.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, April 14, at 10 AM. At the Oakey’s East Chapel.
