Helen M. Keller, 97, of Scranton, and formerly of Newton Twp., died Tuesday at Abington Manor in South Abington Twp.

Helen was the daughter of the late Julius and Anna (Carvel) Keller. Helen was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served for decades volunteering with the Lutheran Braille and Ladies Aid Ministries. She was incredibly kind, loving and extremely generous to family and friends and a good samaritan to all. She enjoyed the inspirational messages on WPEL radio station in Montrose, which she faithfully supported over the years. Helen was truly a servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Surviving are her sister, Arlene Klien, of Clarks Summit; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Keller; and William Keller; her sister, Ruth Matalavy; and her nephews, Jerome Matalavy; William Keller Jr.; Randall Keller; and Gerald Klien.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 238 Reese St., Scranton with the Rev. John Zimmerman as officiating clergy. Interment will be at Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.

Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
