Lorain Printing Firm's Founder Succumbs At 76

Lorain-Edwin G. Koethe, 76, of 1010 Allison Ave., founder of the Lorain Printing Co., one of thee largest printing businesses in Lorain County, died early yesterday morning after a long illness.

A native of LaCrosse, Wis., he founded the printing company shortly after he came to this city in 1904. He was active in the operation of the firm until 1942 when his son, Urban S., a widely known civic and welfare Leader here, became president and general manager.

he was a charter member of the Lorain Elks Lodge and was active in the Mason's, the Order of Eastern Star and the Eagles. He attended the First Congregational Church.

He is survived by his wife, Anna S.; two sisters and a brother.

The body is at the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home where friends may call and where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday.
