88, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
A lifelong resident of Pitt County, she was a 1937 graduate of Contentnea High School. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Earl Harris in 1999.
She is survived by her son, Tony Harris and wife, Linda, of Ayden; daughters, Jeanette H. Whiteman and husband, Billy, of Sanford, and Elaine Harris Hardin, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Lynette, Jessica, Joelle, Mark, Elizabeth, and Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Will, Meredith, Levi, Emma, and Owen.
