Mr. Carl Michael “Mike” Owen, age 52 of Rockmart passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
Mr. Owen was born August 8, 1964 in Marietta, son of Dianne Dillard Owen and the late Carl Millard Owen. He attended Rockmart High School and was of the Baptist faith. He was a self-employed flooring installer and enjoyed music, singing, karaoke and playing the guitar. Mike loved to socialize and have “fun”.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Amanda Dawn Owen Beck and Ashley Owen.
Survivors include a daughter, Katie Leigh Owen of Lizella; three sons, Michael Dale Owen and his wife Robin of Birmingham, AL, Kevin Neil Owen of Cedartown and Daniel Jordan Owen of Lizella; mother, Dianne Owen of Rockmart; sister, Patricia D. Owen Spangler and her husband Charles of Rockmart; brother, Johnny Lee Owen of Rockmart; two grandchildren, Brayden Owen and Elliot Owen; and companion, Elaine Franklin.
Funeral services for Mr. Owen will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Mr. Lonnie Sheffield officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the funeral service from 12 Noon until 1:30 p.m.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jason Walker, Jason Baldwin, Rob Jordan, Charles Spangler, Ray Camp and David Purser.
Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Smith, Greg Sheffield and Lonnie Sheffield.
