Harriet was born March 27, 1930 in rural Fonda, Iowa the daughter of Matt and Loretta (O’Brien) Mackey.
As a child, Harriet was baptized and later confirmed. She attended school at St. Columbkille Catholic School in Varina where she graduated in l948.
On November 15, 1949, Harriet was united in marriage to Leo “Bud” Goedert at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina. Together, they were blessed with eight children; Sharon, Jane, Elizabeth, James, William, Paul, Carol and John.
Harriet was active in the community being a member of the Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, American Legion Society and the Legion of Mary Society.
In her spare time, Harriet enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing cards and Scrabble. She especially enjoyed winning at checkers against the grandkids. Harriet also enjoyed doing arts and crafts. Family was very important to Harriet and she treasured the time she was able to spend with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
