....from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

Married: March 23, 1974

James L. "Jim" Britcher passed away on April 10, 2018 in the UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Hospital after battling years with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

He was born May 27, 1953 in Carlisle, PA to the late Loy E. and Jean (Neff) Britcher of Landisburg, PA. Jim was employed in construction with the Laborers Union Local 1180 during his early career and transitioned to a truck driver for the last twenty-five years while driving for Super-rite and the last twenty for Giant Food Stores. He always looked forward to driving the big truck again.

Jim enjoyed being an amateur photographer, taking thousands of photos not only for family gatherings and weddings but also at car races. It was appreciated at both the South Mountain Dragway in Boiling Springs and the Beaver Springs Dragway in Beaver Springs, PA. He knew that many people are thankful to have photo memories for generations. He was a likeable gentle man of few words, seldom complained and always shared his compassion.

He is survived by his loving and supporting wife of forty-four years, Joanne Marcus Britcher of Carlisle, and one sister and many nieces and nephews. He and his wife had no children but shared their love for twenty-one years with their late feline, Ashley, who he continued to miss. While Jim could not work for a couple of years due to this dreadful disease, he took much of that time to bond with their newest feline, Alex.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs. As requested by Jim, there will be a private graveside committal. Jim had two public requests: he wanted the Giant drivers to wear their uniform to his viewing and for his loved ones to stop smoking thus not to suffer as he did.
