Mr. Jimmy Ray Stewart, 79, of Canon, GA passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, at the St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA.
Mr. Stewart was born in Hartwell, GA on June 23, 1938, son of the late Buel Stewart and the late Velma Bennett Stewart. He was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of the Canon Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Jean Burgess Stewart; brother, Jack Stewart; step-son, David Jones; and step- great granddaughter, Angel Hope Schneider.
Survivors include his daughter, Connie Brown of Canon, GA; granddaughter, Candice Brown; great grandchildren, McKenzie Wallace and Trevor Wallace; brother, Ned Stewart of Hartwell, GA; step-children, Susie Raffield, Wanda Morgan, Dianne Tiller, Mary Minish, Jimmy Jones, Fay Sanders and Marie Bellew; twenty-one step-grandchildren, thirty-eight step-great grandchildren and six step-great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service for Mr. Stewart will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, in the Franklin Memorial Gardens- South with Rev. Bill Avant officiating. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. The family is at their respective homes. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
