Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25th, at 11:00 am at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Phil Somsen, Chaplain of Trinity Regional Medical Center, officiating. Visitation will be after 4:00 pm on Sunday at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Survivors include- his wife- Kathy; son- Scott and his wife Nicki of Fort Dodge; daughters- Mindy Anderson and her husband Rob, and Jodi Michehl and her husband Trevir both of Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren; brother- Richard and his wife Darline; sisters- Janet Pederson and her husband Robert, and Betty Lind and her husband Dick both of Badger.
He was preceded in death by his father Wilfred; and his brothers Harold and Larry.
Jerry W. Messerly was born on January 18, 1949, in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. For the past 16 years Jerry served the City of Fort Dodge and Webster County as the Animal Control Officer. He was very passionate about his job, loved wood working, and spending time with his family. Jerry always looked forward to his and Kathy's vacations to Branson, MO. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who he helped through the years as "the dog catcher".
