Daniel Richard Jenkins passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 7.

He was born on October 30, 1953 in Lansing, Michigan, to Robert S. Jenkins and Barbara Sue Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Heytens Jenkins, and siblings: Janet McCarty, Gary Jenkins, Tom Jenkins, and Sandra Moore.

Dan grew up in Lansing, Michigan, and enjoyed several years of Bethel service after graduating high school. He had especially fond memories of serving on a construction project in Columbia. Afterwards, he moved to serve as a need-greater in Harriman and Bristol, Tennessee. After years of pioneering, he eventually met his wife, Becky.

Dan loved gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends. He was never at a loss for words and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Whether it was English poetry or a home renovation, Dan could tell you something about it. Dan loved Jehovah and was always eager to dig deep into God's Word, occasionally going to his office to research an idea from a book of Studies from the Scriptures. While many lose their curiosity as they grow up, Dan never lost his youthful wonder for new experiences, always hungry for another adventure (and another snack). He had a strong friendship with his siblings, often texting them in a ritual known as "Family Fridays" in which each sibling shared his or her thoughts and feelings about the previous week. But most of all, he loved his dear wife, Becky. He would get up early in the morning to pick her a bouquet of flowers and make a healthy breakfast that both could enjoy. They enjoyed shopping for groceries at Trader Joe's, hiking to waterfalls, and engaging in extensive home renovation projects. Dan';s family will miss his caring attitude toward others, his hearty, jovial laugh, and his love of life.
