Ruth G. (Trout) Blair, 74, passed away too soon from cancer on August 9, 2017 at her home in Newport. She was born November 12, 1942 in Philadelphia to the late William and Katherine (Dowling) Trout. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was an avid walker, Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed Jeopardy and crossword puzzles.
On August 19, 1961 she married her love, Thomas E. Blair Jr. who preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by her children, Thomas E. Blair III (Sandra), Mark A. Blair (Mary Lou), Andrew D. Blair, and Matthew Q. Blair of Newport and Jason A. Blair (Lorelei) of Everett, Christine Klinger (Heath) of Newport, Mary Katherine Thomas (Lance) of Red Lion and Stephanie Jones of Newport; brothers, Bernard and Robert Trout; sister, Mildred Fite; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and her faithful dog, Brandy. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith C. Blair, five brothers and four sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 14th, 10:00 AM
at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 811 Shermans Valley Road, New Bloomfield with Reverend Robert Sharman as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ruth's name to the American Cancer Society's "Team Keith" at 230 N. 4th St Newport, PA 17074 or the Newport Public Library
