Robert B. Beaver, 92, of Mishawaka, passed away on Saturday, April 7th in his residence. Bob was born in Huntington, Indiana on August 12, 1925 to the late Maurice and Dorothy E. (Bibler) Beaver. When Bob was 17, his father gave him permission to join the United States Navy. He honorably served as a signal man aboard the USS LTS270 and USS LST872. On October 15, 1944, in Huntington, Indiana, he married Betty Jane Brinkman, she preceded him in death in 1995. Bob had many jobs from Studebakers, Uniroyal, selling Snap-On Tools, and retiring from the St. Joseph County Highway Department. He earned his pilot’s license, stating that he wished he still had it. Bob was a member of the VFW Post #360, and participated in the posts burial squad for many years. He was also a past member of Club 15 in Mishawaka. He was the king of his castle.

Bob is survived by his loving companion of 22 years, Marcia Alexander, his children, Penny Payne of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robert A. Beaver of South Bend, Kathy Takacs of Mishawaka, and Charles Beaver of Mishawaka. He was the proud grandpa of 8, a great grandpa of 10, and the great-great grandpa of 1. He is also survived by his extended family, Tammy Terry of Riverview, Florida and Donald (Kimberly) Alexander Jr. of Mishawaka and their 3 children. Bob is also survived by his youngest brother, Paul (Margie) Beaver of Temecula, California. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 12th from 5 until 8:00PM in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, and one hour prior to the service. A service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at Noon on Friday, April 13th with Pastor Joyce Kuhn officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
