ROSS, H. Virginia 93, of Springfield, died Monday evening, February 26, 2007 in Community Hospital. Born in Springfield, Ohio on December 12, 1913, she was the daughter of John and F. Belle (Clauer) Yost. On September 20, 1933 she married Robert Ross Sr., and together they founded the Ross Abattoir in Springfield in 1940 where she served as the corporate secretary-treasurer for over 40 years. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, The Springfield Country Club, GODA Club, and volunteered at Mercy Medical Center. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Chris Conrad of Springfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dianne Ross Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri, Richard and Rosann Ross of Coral Springs, Florida and Randall and Kay Ross of Washburn, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Shirley Balles, Mary Ann Beaver, Joann Hart, and Joy Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1988; two sisters, Alice Griffin and Miriam Murphy; and a grandson, David Ross. A celebration of Virginia's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007 in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel M. Powell officiating. The family will receive friends at the Springfield Country Club immediately following the service. A private committal service will be held in Ferncliff Cemetery.
