“Jackie” graduated from Groveton High School, Class of 1962. He loved sports and played both, football and baseball during season. He also loved being outdoors and working with wildlife. He was active through the youth program in school such as FFA. Upon graduating high school, “Jackie” joined the United States Army and served to help protect our nation. Later he moved to Pasadena and worked in security. He lived in the Pasadena and Deer Park areas for most of his adult life. He and the love of his life, Vickie later moved to the Cleveland area where they raised their daughter. In 2006, “Jackie” retired and decided to move back home to Trinity County. He loved the farm life and couldn’t wait to get back to what he knew best. He was a loving husband, father, son and grandfather who will be missed dearly.
Service will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Groveton. Interment will follow in Thornton Cemetery in Trinity, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Daphnal Freeman.
His survivors include his loving wife, Vickie; daughter, Sandy King; grandson, Drew King; granddaughter, Caitlin King; brothers: Raymond Freeman, Gene Freeman, Ronnie Cannon, Roy Cannon and wife, Carla Cannon and a host of other relatives.
