Joseph K. Baldwin, Jr., 60, of Bryans Road MD died October 2, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare in La Plata MD. Joe was born on December 7, 1954 to the late Joseph K. Baldwin, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Prebble) Baldwin. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph "Kirk" Baldwin, III and his brother-in-law, Thomas S. McDermott. Joe is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shelly J. (Wood) Baldwin; his daughter, Sherri J. Osborn and her boyfriend, Brian; his son, Thomas "Tommy" S. Baldwin and his wife, Patty; grandchildren, Krystal Windsor, Hunter Windsor, Luke Baldwin, Dylan Baldwin, Julia Baldwin, Darlyn Osborn and Derrekk Brown; sisters, Judith M. Hurley, Mary (Sissy) V. Bostian (Charles) and Jo Ann Nygaard (Mike). Joe graduated from Lackey High School in 1973. He was manager for Scott gas station in Indian Head, MD before going to work for the government in Washington, DC as a wastewater sewage treatment plant operator for 25 years. After retiring from the government, he worked at the Mattawoman Water and Sewage Treatment Plant in La Plata, MD for more than four years before becoming disabled. Joe had a memory like an elephant. He loved hearing and telling old stories from the past. Loved old western,s especially John Wayne movies, loved partying with his buddy's and making them laugh. He looked forward to planting his garden every year. Joe also loved antique cars and race cars. He loved his dog, Buck and raised many farm animals in his lifetime. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 2-4p and 6-8p at Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 12 noon. Repast to follow at Bryans Road Firehouse.
