James Ray Jeffery, 73 of Waldron, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Sunday April 8, 2018. He was born August 17, 1944 to the late Arthur (Slim) Jeffery and Elgie Tinder Jeffery. He was preceded in death by his parents.
James is survived by his wife DeAnna, two sons Rick and wife Darla of Waldron and Jason and wife Whitney of Hot Springs; granddaughter Megan Jeffery Green and husband Josh of Atkins, grandson Tyler Jeffery and granddaughter Madeline Jeffery and great granddaughter Averie Green.
James graduated from Waldron High School class of 1962. He served in the United States Army National Guard in the Vietnam Era. He was a devout Christian and served on several committees in church over the years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a custom home
builder for 35 years. He was a founding member of the Waldron Gideon Camp where he served in many different offices over the years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. James's celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Waldron First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron.
Pallbearers will be Harold Chrisman, Richard Holleman, Jim Jeffery, Buzz Morris, Josh Green, and James Hughes. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Plummer, Miles Dozier, and Hershel Sims.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in James's name to The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251 Washington, D.C. 20090-7251.
