She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Herman Johnson, her husband, Charles Bishop, and her son, Trent Bishop. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Bishop, of Richmond, Virginia and her niece, Donita Dodson, of Honduras, Central America.
For 10 years, she struggled with the relentless, unforgiving disease of dementia. Yet, during that time, she brought smiles and laughter (on her good days) to all the wonderful caregivers and staff at The Southerland Place and then at Saint Francis Home where she spent her last seven years. The family cannot thank these dear wonderful people enough for all they did for her.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Cloud officiating. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Saint Francis Home, 65 West Clopton Street, Richmond, Virginia, 23225.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15.
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:17.
To God be the Glory.
