1772-1841 Christian Garber was the s/o Michael & Catherine (Johntz) Garber in Earl twp. , Lancaster Co., born in 1772. He pursed farming with his uncle Christian in Hempfield twp. moved with his father to Frankstown Twp. Huntingdon Co. about 1805, helped in the formation of Hollidaysburg, served as a contractor, with his nephew from Virginia , for the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal. 1832-1840; and in1839 , he became a major force behind the formation of Blair Co.. addition to his Senate service, Christian was a member of the House of Representatives, 1816-17. His will states he has a daughter Charlotte w/o Jarvis F. Hanks then living in Cleveland , Ohio
Since he died before Blair county formed , he is not recognized much locally!
