Carol Lynch, 69, of Kearney, died April 8, 2018 at Lexington Regional Health Center.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Melody Adams will officiate. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements.
She was born May 3, 1948 in Lincoln, NE to Eber and Florence (Weaver) Tice. She grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. She then graduated from Kearney State College in 1970. On August 15, 1970 she married Gary Wren Lynch.
While in high school she ran on the girls track team and in college was on the swim team. She taught Physical Education at various elementary schools in Kearney until retiring in 2003. She also coached middle school track in Kearney. After retiring as a teacher she worked part time as a banquet server at the Holiday Inn in Kearney.
Carol enjoyed playing softball, skiing, bowling, and was an avid golfer. She and her husband were members of the Kearney Country Club and charter members at Awarii Dunes Golf Club.
Surviving relatives include her husband Gary of Kearney; daughters, Taryn Schwartz and husband Ryan and children Aubrey and Bennett of Kearney and Jenny Lynch and husband Jamie Rogers and children Oakes and Indigo of Denver, CO; brother, Terry Tice of Telluride, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gene Tice.
