Jerry Lyn Ware, age 78, a resident of Ruth St. Mansfield Addition Philippi, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 3, 1939 in Philippi, a son of the late Paul Blackburn and Ruth Mildred (McBee) Ware. Jerry was united in marriage on April 28, 1963 to Barbara J. He was owner of Scott Plumbing and Heating, Delta Mining Supply, part owner in Bartco, and manager of Barbour Country Club.
Jerry was a member of ROTC, he was an avid golfer, and sports fan. He was a member of the Crim Memorial United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday April 10, from 5-8 pm and on Wednesday April 11, from 8-11 am the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
