Infanta of Spain, born María Isabel Francisca de Asís Antonia Luisa Fernanda Cristina Amelia Felipa Adelaida Josefa Elena Enriqueta Carolina Justina Rufina Gasparina Melchora Baltasara Matea de Orléans y de Borbón. On May 30, 1864 at St. Raphael's Church in Kingston upon Thames, England she married his paternal first cousin, Philippe d'Orléans, and the couple had eight children with six living to adulthood and marrying into Europe's royal families. Philippe d'Orléans, who was claimant to the French throne, was in exile most of his life, first England and then the United States. By 1873, after France was defeated by Germany in the Franco-Prussian war, and after the abdication of Emperor Louis Napoleon III, her husband withdrew all claims to the French throne living in England in exile the rest of his life.
