Juan Jose Mondragon, 63, passed away on October 11, 2008, in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 9, 1945, in Mexico D. F. to Miguel Angel Mondragon and Nicolasa Delgado. Juan Jose served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He worked for 25+ years as a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and he was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness for 20 years, he was a resident of Galveston Island before moving to Hitchcock, Texas with his family. He was a dedicated family man and lover of music, arts and the culinary world.
Juan Jose is survived by his wife M. Griselda Mondragon; daughters Maria Del Carmen Gilder, Leticia Mondragon-Zeller, and Griselda "Bibi" Mondragon; son Juan Jose Mondragon Jr., and seven grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be on Friday, October 17, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 7551 Monticello Dr., Texas City, Texas 77591 with Santos Jara officiating.
