Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel Welch Coker. She was the widow of Melvin Washington Ayscue Jr.
Mrs. Ayscue was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., at Liberty Christian Church, conducted by Rev. Caroline Allen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Camilla A. Roberson (Raymond Strum) and Krista A. Hilliard (Charles); two sons, Melvin T. "Tommy" Ayscue (Joan) and David W. Ayscue (Teresa); two sisters, Betsy Eaves and Jo Taylor; a brother, Joe Tom Coker (Gladys); nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean C. Allen; a brother, Cecil Coker; a son-in-law, Jeff Roberson; and a great-grandchild, Emery Godwin.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Liberty Christian Church. All other times, they will be at the home of Tommy Ayscue, 1119 Epsom-Rocky Ford Road, Henderson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Schafer Seymour, Mitchell Seymour, Travis Lewis, Daniel East, Tyler East, Powell Wilkins, Brent Godwin, Eugene East, Lane Roberson, Patrick Jenkins, Charlie Seymour, and Jonathan Renn.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Liberty Christian Church, c/o Mattie May, 1897 Epsom-Rocky Ford Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
