Beverly Jean Lynch (nee Short) was born on March 26, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Thurmon Winthrop and Charlie Mae Short (Hightower). Beverly graduated from Ottawa Hills High School and attended The University of Toledo. Beverly "Bev" was married to Robert "Bob" Lynch for 57 years. Bob preceded her in death as did her younger brother, Don Short. Together, Bev and Bob raised three children, Mike (Cecily), Molly (div. Jesse), Dan (Emily) and loved dearly their 10 grandchildren, Jack, Elizabeth, Colin, Peter, Robert, Gus, Jake, Ian, Mary Parker and Patrick. Bev's greatest joys were her friends and family, Thanksgiving dinner, a copious flower and vegetable garden, her bridge club (that never played a game of bridge) and her golden retrievers: Hobey, Trooper and Daisy Mae. From an early age, Bev was an excellent swimmer, spending hours at The Sylvania Country Club and The Toledo Club, often while Bob worked out in the gym! A breast cancer survivor, Bev was a volunteer in The Reach to Recovery Program for women coping with the disease. Known for her smile and propensity for laughter, Bev is remembered as an extraordinary mom, neighbor, wife and lady. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to The Toledo Area Humane Society.
