Services for John Robert Nixon, Sr., 62, an employee of Ross Gear, of Rt. 3, Lebanon, will be Saturday at 3:30 PM from Nave Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Bullard officiating. Burial will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Mr. Nixon died Thursday, May 5, 1977, after a short illness. A Dekalb County native, Mr. Nixon was born August 20, 1914, the son of the late L. V. and Bertha Kelly Nixon. He resided in Wilson County most of his life and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Surviving are his widow, Selma Massey Nixon; s son, John Robert Nixon, Jr. of Lebanon; a brother, Thomas Nixon of Knoxville and two grandchildren, Phil and Phyllis Nixon of Lebanon.
