Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 3 for Chad Parker, 23, who died Saturday, November 29, 1997 suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Carroll. Reverend Steven Hansen and Reverend Jon Wagner officiated the 2:00 p.m. services from the United Methodist Church. Lula Garnes served as organist and Cindy Seastrom vocalist. Interment was in Coon Rapids Cemetery. Casket bearers were Brad Nickell, Scott Gymer, Greg Gymer, Jeff Wanninger, Kurt Irlmeier and Scott Schaefer. Honorary casket bearers were Harry "Bud" Streck, Jay Bolger, Mark Moore, Richard Meiners, and Charles Nixon. CHAD ANTHONY PARKER Chad Anthony, son of Alvin Roy and Mildred Louise Wagner Parker, was born May 8,1974 in Carroll. He attended school in Coon Rapids graduating from Coon Rapids-Bayard High School in 1992. During high school, he played drums
s in the band, excelled in vocal music and enjoyed participating in musicals. He then attended Northwest Missouri State for one year. Chad then returned to Iowa working at various jobs in Waterloo, Des Moines, Coon Rapids and Carroll. On November 29, 1997 Chad died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Carroll. He reached the age of 23 years, six months and 21 days. Chad enjoyed singing and electronics. He was a mechanic by trade. Chad was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Parker; a grandfather, Reverend Jon Wagner; and a grandmother, Ruby Parker. He is survived by his special friend, Cheryl Anthofer and her son, Devon, of Carroll; his parents, Bob and Millie Henak of Coon Rapids; his sisters: Alisa Arends of Coon Rapids; Deb and her husband, Mike Hanson, of Story City; Pam Moore of Mesa, AZ; two brothers: Rob Henak and his wife, Ellen, of Milwaukee, WI; and Bill Henak and his wife, Kristen, of Chanhassen, MN; one grandmother, Mary Wagner of Holmesville, NE; one great-grandmother, Blanche Mace, of Coon Rapids; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
