STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Inman L. Lanier, age 91, died early Saturday at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. He was a native and longtime resident of Bulloch County. Mr. Lanier worked for many years as a Frito Lay distributor before retiring in 1990. He attended Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and Lower Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Lanier was preceded in death by his first wife, Alda A. Lanier; his second wife, Betty Hollingsworth; and two grandchildren, Tara Melissa Lanier and Clayton Duane Screws.
Survivors include his son, Inman L. Lanier Jr. of Savannah; his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie (Duane) Screws of Statesboro; his brother and sister-in-law, H.B. (Doris) Lanier; two sisters, Helen Ambrose of Atlanta and Elizabeth Aspinwall of Pembroke; two grandchildren, Danielle (John) Mixon and Bridget Lanier; four great-grandchildren, Chandler Teresa Scott, Clayton Zane Scott, Whitney Lane Hughes and Cassidy Tara Lanier; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating. Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
