Funeral services for David Kirkland, 75, of Lamesa will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Kevin Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. David passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Lamesa. He was born January 11, 1943 in Oak Grove, TX to George W. and Doris (Phillips) Kirkland. David worked at West Gaines Seed/Americot, Inc. for 24 years. He loved his family, his job, the people he worked for, and those he served. His hobbies included cotton, fishing, hunting, golfing, and quarter horses. David is survived by his children, Anissa Huckert of Granbury, Greg Kirkland of Austin, and Kyle Kirkland of Lubbock; his mother, Doris Kirkland of Breckenridge; sister, Betty Branham of Lamesa; brothers, George H. Kirkland and wife, Laverda of Breckenridge, Sam Kirkland and wife, Carolyn of Lubbock, and Bruce Kirkland and wife, D'Lynn of Lamesa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father George W. Kirkland; grandson, Kolby David Huckert; nephews, Charles Wayne Kirkland, and Michael O'Brien; and brother-in-law, Clay Branham.
