Billy Ray Rudd, 86, of Aledo died Aug 20, 2006 at Veteran's Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
Services were at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo.
Visitation was 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was in the Peniel cemetery, Joy.
Bill was born June 3, 1920 (June 4 date on stone) in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of William G Rudd & Frankie Bradbury Rudd. He married Helen Hurbert in 1943 in Iowa. She died in 1950. He married Elsie Earlene Cathy on Nov 5, 1952 in Mt Pleasant, Iowa.
He was a farm hand and World War II Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Aledo VFW Post 1571 and the American Legion Post 121. Bill enjoyed woodcarving, embroidering and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Earlene, Aledo; daughters, Julie (James) Aldridge, Tampla, Fla., and Rebecca Lynn Hilliker, Bradley; sons Danny Ray (Janet) Rudd Sr., Fort McCoy, Fla., and Bill H Rudd, Aledo; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Beverly Franks; and sisters Cecil May Reese and Inez.
