She was born in Akron, Ohio on September 19, 1932 and moved to Norton in 1969. Lois was an accomplished musician and played the organ and directed the choir at Boulevard United Methodist Church in Akron for 30 years. She also spread her love of music by teaching piano and organ to many area young people and adults as well.
Preceded in death by her son, Ed Meyers, she is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Hal; daughter, Kathy; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and David Koontz; granddaughters, Katie and Emily and great-granddaughter, Rachel.
A Memorial Service celebrating our love for Lois will be held at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., NORTON, on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 7 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her honor may be made to Doylestown Health Care Center, Attention: Portage Unit, 95 Black Drive, Doylestown, Ohio 44230.
Lois' family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff on the Portage Unit at Doylestown Health Care Center for their loving care and for making her a part of their family. A special thank you to her granddaughter, Katie, her "tinkerbell" for her loving care for her grandmother in the last years of her life.
