Judith Carolyn Olson (Judy) was born September 14, 1921 in Underwood, Minnesota. The eldest of six children, Judy developed the habit of working tirelessly and continued that habit for the rest of her life.
A multi-talented woman, she developed and refined her skills in sewing, floral design, catering and cake baking, establishing herself as a "one-stop" local favorite for people planning events.
In addition to her creative work, Judy also spent five years as Girl's Dean, directing the lives of high-school aged girls attending boarding schools at Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado and later at Auburn Academy in Auburn, Washington.
Judy met and married Orley Olson while living in Modesto, California in 1948. With Orley and his son, Marv, Judy moved to Colorado to start a new life. They made the decision to adopt two orphans from Korea in 1955.
Judy combined her talent for sewing and her love of orphans by sewing dresses to be sent to children in need all over the world. She estimated sewing at least 1500, finding great joy in creating something that would bring smiles to the faces of children.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Orley Olson, brothers Pete and Julian Wold, sister Marilyn Cockroft, sister Muriel Gaines and grandson Barry Olson.
She is survived by her son Marv Olson, daughter Wanda Flemming, daughter Jewels Cary, grand-daughter Jessica Flemming, grand-daughter Lisa Tune and great-grand-daughter Zoe Tune.
