atlock, Carolyn Ann (nee Deviney), passed away, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the age of 79.

Loving daughter of the late Ross and Bonnie Deviney (nee Dixon) was born February 10, 1939 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Loving wife for 58 years of Oscar Matlock Jr.; dear mother of Lisa (Jeff) Roszell of Columbia, MO and Frankfort, MI and Amanda (Darren) Darnell of St. Peters; proud grandmother of Kate (Paul) Marston of Minneapolis, MI, Courtney (fiance Chris Bowen) Roszell of St. Louis, Emily Darnell and Ann Darnell both of St. Peters; sister of Pat (Dave) Eaton of Heritage Ranch, TX, Mary Margaret (Tom) Wiginton of Jackson, MO, Ginny Griffith of Pine Bluff, AR and Dickie (Karen) Deviney of The Villages, FL.

Carolyn graduated from Pine Bluff High School and after business college she became an administrative assistant for Sears and Roebuck.

Carolyn and Oscar have homes in both Chesterfield and at the Lake of the Ozarks, she enjoyed traveling to warm climates with her husband and family often spending summers at the lake cruising on the family boat "Sweet Caroline", and winters in Destin, FL and she especially loved her special island in the sun, Abaco in the Bahamas, her "One Particular Harbor".

Amanda wanted to share these thoughts about her mother. "Yesterday a new angel joined heaven. A wonderful, beautiful, amazing angel that was my mother. She has battled Interstitial Lung Disease for the last few years and was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure last year. Mother kept her suffering very private and we respected those wishes by not sharing all the details of her disease. My father has been her primary caregiver and worked tirelessly to allow her to live her final days at home. While we knew that there would be an end to her suffering it is still so hard to accept that she is gone. I imagine that her first stop in heaven was at the beauty parlor to have her hair done and a fresh application of lipstick applied. They were playing "Sweet Caroline" as she marched through those gates, being greeted by family and friends that had passed before her. No longer tethered by her oxygen tubes she was able to stand tall and walk on her own."

The family would like to express a special thanks to Becky and Mell of the Mercy Hospice Team and to her wonderful doctors, Dr. Whitcraft, Dr. Karpman and Dr. Schloss.

Services: A Celebration of Life service will be held this summer at later date at the Lake of the Ozarks. Per her wishes, no formal service or visitation will be held. Interment private. If desired, contributions may be made to Mercy Heart Foundation, 615 S. New Ballas Road, St. Louis, MO 63141 or to the Snuggle Rescue Group, 200 Park Charles Blvd. North, St. Peters, MO 63376.
