Pensacola - In the early morning hours on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, Michael Lewis Holley passed peacefully into eternal rest at his home in Pensacola, FL. Michael was born March 4, 1951 in Century, FL to Mr. Sylvester Holley, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jemison Holley.
Mike's early education began at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Cantonment. He later attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Catholic High School in Pensacola, and graduated in 1970 from Tate High School where he played basketball. Mike formed many lifelong friendships and was very family-oriented and a devout Catholic. Mike will be remembered for his kindness and wisdom. He always told his family how much he loved them and prayed for them daily.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Everett Holley, Sr., Carolyn Holley, Joseph Holley (Doretha), Deborah Holley-Donald (Council), Bishop Martin Holley, Anthony Holley (Edwena), Mary Holley-Lewis (Samuel), Timothy Holley, Rita Holley-Pace and Angela Holley, as well as sister-in-law Benita Holley. He is also survived by his aunt, Mrs.Louise Lee, uncle, Reverend Willie Brown; and numerous cousins and close friends. Uncle Mike will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews as well.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Sylvester Holley, Jr., Harold Holley, Sr. and Patrick Holley.
Vigil Services will be on Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 303 Rocky Ave., Cantonment, FL. with the Rosary at 5:30 pm, Vigil Service at 6:00 pm, and Visitation from 6:30-8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 401 Van Pelt Lane, Pensacola, FL, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Parish Center, 1212 E. Moreno St.,Pensacola, FL.
