Over the years Dottie was very generous with her time and talents. She was involved with the Branch Homemakers and Branch Busy Bees 4-H club as the Club leader for many years. She was one of the original founders of the Branch Area Community Park. Dottie loved gardening and was known for her green thumb and exceptional produce. She also loved softball, having pitched until she was in her mid-60s and coaching into her 70s. Hundreds of young people were the recipients of her knowledge, guidance, and coaching skills.
Survivors include Dottie and Ben's children: Jim (Kay ) Steuer, Branch; Jeff (Amy) Steuer, Madison; Nancy (Keith) Keil, Scottsdale, AZ; Jayne (Kurt) Birkholz, Elkhart Lake; and Jon Steuer, La Crosse; 10 grandchildren, Jay (Holly) Steuer, Katie (Adam) Meyers; Casey, Beth and Kate Steuer; Matt Keil, Erika (Nick) Orman; Will Birkholz; Meg and Caroline Steuer. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Benno in 2016, her parents, and her 10 siblings and their spouses.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Sunday from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. A reception will immediately follow at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Burial will take place on Monday, April 9, at 9:00 a.m. at Branch Evergreen Cemetery.
