Elzie Allison (Rusty) Ridgeway passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA at the age of 93. Rusty was born on February 3, 1923 in Tama, Iowa the son of Elzie and Esther Viola Ridgeway. In 1943 he enlisted in the United States Marines and served during World War II in the South Pacific, he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. After serving his country, Rusty moved to Andover, Illinois and was married to Bernice Josephson from 1948-1964. They had a daughter, Ruby Kathleen, who Rusty dearly loved. Rusty held several different jobs from construction to animal feed salesman, but he finally found his true calling when he took a job as a city bus driver in Illinois. In 1963 he moved to Denver, CO to take a job with Denver Transit and met his wife Mary Flageolle. Rusty and Mary were happily married for 51 years; together they had 3 children Edward, Brad, and Viola. He went to work for Seattle Transit in 1968 and worked there until he retired in June 1990. Rusty enjoyed life and meeting people, he always had a story to tell and a listening ear. One of his favorite pastimes was watching sports (especially the Mariners and Seahawks) and spending time with his family.

Rusty is survived by his devoted spouse Mary; his children, Kathy Oleson of Sun City, AZ, Ed Ridgeway of Bothell, WA, Brad Ridgeway of Bothell, WA, and Viola Bralish and her husband Chuck of Northglenn, CO.; his grandchildren Angie Ayers, Mike Krieg, Dylann Mary Bralish, Hunter Bralish, Chloe Bralish, and Allison Bralish; his great grandchildren, DJ Rowden and Krista Carr; his great-great grandchildren, Jack Rowden and Eva Rowden; a brother Bob Ridgeway, sisters Darlene Henry and Ruth Hinds.

The visitation/memorial service will be held at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home 14951 Bothell Way NE Seattle, WA 98155 on Monday, December 12 at 1p.m.
