George D. Ryan Jr., 78, of Syracuse, NY passed away April 2, 2018 after a long battle with dementia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the SUNY college of Environmental Science and Forestry. He was a career Land Surveyor who once owned and operated Ryan Survey, Rowell and Associates, Gurskey and Ryan. A former member of Central New York Land Surveyors, New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors and the National Society of Professional Surveyors. George was a great story teller. He enjoyed the outdoors and his work but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Predeceased by his parents, George D. Ryan Sr. and Helen T. Ryan and sisters, Carolyn R. Kociuba and Barbara R. Hart. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly H. Ryan; son-in-law, Mike A. Spaiches; son, George D. Ryan III; future daughter-in-law, Dodi M. Grome; grandsons, Zachary T. Ryan, Jacob R. Maltby, Connor R. Maltby and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 10am Tuesday, April 10th at St. James Episcopal Church, Skaneateles. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
