Opal Irene Goetjen, 86, of Grants Pass died Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Granite Hill Cemetery, with Russ Millsaps, pastor, officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Goetjen was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Sweet, Idaho. She moved with her parents to Grants Pass, where she attended school and graduated from Grants Pass High School. On Aug. 1, 1935, in Grants Pass, she married Jack B. Goetjen, who died before her.

She moved to Northern California in 1960, and returned to Grants Pass in 1990, after the death of her husband.

Survivors include a son, Robert Allen Goetjen of Houck, Ariz.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
