Ronnie Lee Lyons, 70, of Centralia, passed away April 3, 2018 in Centralia. He was born the son of Charles F. and Edna Ruth (Deadmond) Lyons on September 19, 1947 in Centralia.

Survivors include his son Wesley Lee Lyons of Centralia; grandson Anthony Ortega of Centralia; siblings Rachel Edwards, Judy Evans, Janet Kingsley, Margaret Watts, Aleta Meeks; and several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, sister Charlotte Lyons, brothers Bill Lyons, CM “Jim” Lyons, Lional Lyons, and daughter Lea Anne Lyons.

Ronnie was a proud United States Marine Veteran, having served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam earning 3 purple hearts and a bronze star with valor. While serving in the United States Marine Corp., he was a drill instructor for 14 years. After his service, he became a post master in DuQuoin and a commercial fisherman. He also was a certified scuba diver, bee farmer, and loved to hunt and trap. He was proud of his many accomplishments.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 12:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Deadmond Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Ronnie’s memory may be made to the Centralia American Legion.
