Mrs. Eugene Haynes Peters (Willie Fay), passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Center on Aging and Health.

She was a native of Flag Pond and a daughter of the late Melvin Madison and Charley Pearl (Guinn) Shelton. Willie was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a loving housewife and always waited to hear Pete “toot” the horn while he was on his runs for the Clinchfield Railroad during his 45 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband of 65 years, Eugene “Pete” Haynes Peters; daughters, Sue Jean Wilson and Mary Judith Waldrup; and many sisters and brothers.

Willie Fay Peters has left behind to cherish her memories:
Grandchildren: Kevin Ayers of Erwin, TN,
Leslie Rhinehart and husband, Bob of Candler, NC,
Amy Graham and husband, Mike of Clinton, TN,
Leigh Patton and husband, Mike of Candler, NC;
Great Grandchildren: Maddy and Robert Rhinehart,
Dakota H. Ayers,
Madison and Olivia Kelly,
Charlotte and Alexander Patton;
Niece: Sarah Godsey Foster and husband, Alan of Norfolk, VA.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of the Center on Aging and Health for all of their love and support and especially to Beverly and Emeline.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
