ALEXANDER, Sara Peebles ( Sally)- of Nashville, TN May 19, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parent’s, Alma Grainger Peebles and William Rives Peebles and her husband Charles Forrest Alexander. Sally was born in Nashville on December 28, 1928 and grew up in Franklin, KY. She was a graduate of Ward Belmont and Vanderbilt University,where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Sally was also a member of West End United Methodist Church, Belle Meade Country Club and the Deer Park Garden Club. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her love of playing bridge with her bridge groups and her love for her family and close friends. She is survived by her daughter’s, Alma Alexander Franks ( Michael ) and Palmer Alexander Payne ( Rod) of Nashville, and Claudia Alexander Haney of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., and her grandchildren, Charles Alexander Franks, Roderick Anthony Payne, Jr., and William Alexander Payne. The family is deeply grateful for the loving care and support provided by her “Band of Angels”.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at West End Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 423 Ellendale Avenue, Nashville. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be sent to the Charles Forrest Alexander Award , c/o Gift Processing Office, Vanderbilt University, P. M. B. 407727, 2301 Vanderbilt Place, Nashville, TN 37240-7727 or the charity of your choice.

Miss Peebles To Wed Mr. Alexander , Today Scales Chapel, West End United Methodist Church, will be the scene at 11 o’ clock this morning of Miss Sara Grainger Peebles of Franklin, KY to Charles Forrest Alexander. Miss Peebles is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Rives Peebles and Mr. Alexander is the son of Mrs. L. M. Alexander of Auburn, AL and the late Ross Coleman Alexander.
The bride will be given in marriage by her uncle Claude Grainger of Franklin, KY.
